Re-installed WP now links to files not working

I have been messing around with WP in a subdirectory (
/test) which worked perfectly, and decided to deinstall and reinstall into the root directory. I used Wise FTP and cleaned all the old files off the server (1and1)and deleted the old MySQL database. Once I had a clean install which works (www.shinewaterchurch.org), no links to my audio files on the same server (/Media) connect anymore. BTW, the links have worked on various simple websites I have built for over 4 years now.The link to the page is (
https://shinewaterchurch.org/media/)I am using the same plug-ins as before. Do I need a htaccess file in the root folder?
The link for an audio file when clicked produces this result:
The requested URL “https://www.shinewaterchurch.org/Media/2014/2014_03_02-the_benefits_of_being_his_child_favour_and_friendship-mo_tizzard-80kbps.mp3” cannot be found or is not available. Please check the spelling or try again later.
This happens whatever link is pressed (but the file name changes)
