Re-installed wordpress site on godaddy not showing up

  • i did a Manuel reinstall of my wordpress site hosted on godaddy. Then i ran a backup of the files from the previous site. Now the site contents wont show up. Instead i get the Hello word thing. But my files, i thought the backup would have restored all files.

    Did you also backup and restore the database, or just the files?

    Your content and settings are stored in the database, not files.

    If you only restored the files, make sure that your previous MySQL database exists (I don’t know the specifics for GoDaddy’s hosting panel to do that), and if it does, make sure that your wp-config.php file is set to connect to *that* database and not the new one.

    I can see 2 wp-config.php files with the same contents. wp-config.php and wp-config.php1

    WordPress will only read wp-config.php, I don’t know where that other one came from.
