Re-connect to WP database

Hi there.

In my customised WordPress system, I have sections that connect to other databases on my server.

However, once I connect to a different database, WordPress tends to screw up because I have moved the SQL connnection elsewhere.

I was just wondering if there was a way to “reconnect” to the WordPress system, at all?

I’ve had a look at the “wp-db.php” class, but it’s quite hard to decipher.

Any ideas?
