• I, as admin, created a Username (“krishoyt”, her firstlastname) using the name of the person whose job it was to monitor the generic email address “coordinator@…” for her organization, one of many with staff who are Subscribers to one of our Sites.

But she left, and a new person took that position, and so because you can’t change a username, I deleted the old User entirely and tried to create a New User for the new employee, paulsnyder, with the same old email address (“coordinator@…”)

However, I’m getting an error message that says “Sorry, that email address is already used!”

So does deleting a User not also purge the email, password, real name, etc? If not, does this mean that we’ll never be able to use “coordinator@…” ever again?

But if there’s a way around this problem, please let me know.

hmmm…. check your wp_users table to see if that address is really in use.

Although I’m a SuperAdmin, my knowledge and experience is not very “super,” as I’m just filling in between tech consultants for our small nonprofit.

If by “wp_users table” you mean this page:
    https://forums.vermontaccess.net/wp-admin/users.php?orderby=email&order=asc
then, I can tell you that there is no other email among our 61 subscribers that begins with “coordinator@…”

Is there another table somewhere that I have to delete before I can create a New User with that same email address?

I was suggesting that you look at your database via phpmyadmin. Given that you’re on multisite, you’re now beyond my ken, so I’m stepping out. ??
