Rating, Tracking and Commission Fees

    Hello Nitesh,

    I have just a few questions for you.

    Commissions:

    When we set up our account with PayPal we were told that we have to make the seller the primary receiver of payment from buyers and we had to make ourselves the secondary receivers.

    However. the way the plug in is set up is in order for us to receive our commission fees we have to be the primary receiver of the payment. PayPal will not allow this.

    How will we receive our commission fees this way?

    Rating:

    Will you be adding a feature that will allow our subscribers to rate buyers and sellers?

    Tracking:

    Will you be adding a feature that will allow the buyers and sellers to track shipping?

    Hi Carla,

    Sorry for delayed response.

    Let me attend to each question below:

    1. Commissions: The current implementation require admin to get all payment to his paypal account and then transfer amount (after commission deduction) to seller account.

    This is not the ideal way and that is why I’m now implementing a more easier way of doing it i.e. using paypal adaptive payments – https://developer.paypal.com/docs/classic/adaptive-payments/integration-guide/APIntro/

    It’ll be released soon via update in 2 weeks time.

    2. Rating:
    There can be implementation where a buyer can leave a rating for seller. The problem is that plugin does not have any mechanism to verify if the buyer is authentic (has he bought any products from seller). If only rating and writing a comment is required, I do not think it would be much of sense.

    For sellers to rate buyers, again no verification system. Though here logic can be written to see if seller got the payment after winning the auction.

    Hence I see above hindrances in this feature.

    3. Tracking:

    PRO does not integrate with any shipping solutions where it could retrieve tracking info and show its status. It only ensures that seller gets the shipping address and accordingly gets extra payment. Hope you understand this.
