    Hi,
the plugin doesn’t show the product rating.
if I use the wishlist template it shows smth like that

ROCCAT Kone XTD Max Customization Gaming Mouse (ROC-11-810)
    by ROCCAT [ROCCAT]
    Rank/Rating: -/-
    Price: $89.99

If I use just %RATING%, it shows: –
How can I fix that? I need the everage rating either in number format (4.5) or stars format.

Can you also tell me please, if Amazon Api usage is free or not? I mean, If I create a huge table and use your plugin to show the price and rating for products, will Amazon charge me anything?

    Hi,

Use of the Amazon Advertising API is free, however it only allows a few requests per second. If you have a large table of products you will need to enable the Amazon Link Cache.

Unfortunately the AWS API no longer supports the product rating, if you install the development version of the plugin then drop me an email I can provide an ‘extra’ plugin to provide the rating data.

Dev version can be downloaded from here:

    Hope that helps,

    Paul

I’m also having this issue, and would love to get the extra “rating” plugin you mentioned.

    Hi,

The ‘extra’ plugin uses a site scraper to extract the information from the Amazon.com website pages. Unfortunately Amazon.com have changed the layout and underlying HTML of the Product Pages and the plugin no longer reliably retrieves the information.

I’ll have a go at updating the ‘regular expression’ used to find the rating, but no guarantees I will get it to work (or that Amazon won’t change their website again!).

Hi Paul, By today is the dev plugin working to display the “rating” somehow? Or there is some workaround to achieve it via this “extra” scraper plugin?

    Hi,

Still doesn’t seem to work, the US product details page – where I try and lift the rating from always seems to pick up the wrong value.

I’ll have another look at it next week,

    Cheers,

    Paul

By now what I am thinking to do is to create a separate template for each rating value from 0 to 5, and place the value fixed with stars images from none to 5 stars. As an idea, would be nice also in the meanwhile to manually place the rating value on the short code at the post and %RATING% in the template would display it. This is nothing pretty I know. But at least this way could be possible still have a single template to display many products in a single post or page and the rating values displayed as desired, even a fixed value.

Hope you can get it solved because I am taking a lot of approach from this plugin would like to continuously using it.

    Keep us up to date!

    Cheers

    Elvis
