• I’m trying to fix my site so the elements are aligned correctly.
The problem right now is that my #rap doesn’t extend down to cover the content elements in Firefox. It works in IE, but that probably just proves something is wrong.
Could someone take a look and tell me what’s wrong with my #rap code?
    Thanks!

The rap is only containing the header in FF. I found this post where they had the same problem.

It doesn’t look like anybody had a solution, as the poster switched layouts to a template.
Does anyone use another forum that might be helpful in this situation? Thanks.

I’m not sure I understand the first sentence. Are you asking why I am asking for help from people who recommended another person with the same problem switch to a template?
Well, I didn’t see that a similar question had been asked until just a few minutes ago.
I guess I don’t understand the painful part. Many of the sites I read daily are using a similar scheme to what I’m proposing, involving a background image in the #rap with content and menu div’s inside.
I don’t feel like I’m trying to reinvent the wheel here, and so I’m frustrated as to what’s keeping it from working. I honestly thought the problem was simple and caused by my own ignorance of css positioning.

The problem which the people who may be able to assist you face is that explaining a piece by piece transition from a to b is very difficult to explain remotely. It is made more difficult if the user has quite understandably not got a complete understanding of the subject. If the user starts with a very badly broken design it is almost impossible. Over a period of time explaining that it is necessary to edit both the default index.php and wp-layout.css to match has become a disproportionate burden on a few individuals.
You *presented* – to use a medical term – in another thread with a positioning problem, ostensibly to do with the header. Some people tried to fix that. Now you are here with the next. I have read all your CSS very thoroughly and if you persist with a piecemeal approach they are further cross browser issues to come.
The style (color fonts etc) on your current blog is nice and simple in a very visually appealing way. If you fit a new interface it will not take you long to add back in the artistic elements you need. This is no big deal. It just needs a new approach. I really hope this helps. Good luck. Best Wishes.
