Ranking drops on update

Using the Yoast SEO for WordPress plugin does not guarantee high rankings and traffic for your site because Google Rankings depend on?a lot of different factors. Issues that determine rankings include server load, page speed, cache configuration, mobile versions, responsiveness, the site’s content, all of which fall outside of the plugin’s scope.

Having said that, in order to get?more organic?traffic and higher rankings in the search results, the main thing is to optimize your content. Please refer to this?definitive guide?and consider the following:

Maybe you didn’t understand my concern.

I just wanted to know why ranking drops when I update yoast to newer version? And it takes almost a week to get back to where it was before.

Do I really need to update yoast to newer version?

Updating to the latest version of the Yoast SEO for WordPress plugin shouldn’t be any correlation as to why your ranking drops, as there are so many ranking factors to consider (server load, page speed, cache configuration, mobile versions, responsiveness, the site’s content), all of which are outside of the plugin’s scope. Otherwise, we would hear mass reports from other users each time the plugin is updated.

We recommend that your review the settings in the plugin (make sure your sitemap is correct, you’ve set the proper posts and pages to be indexed, your robots.txt file) and other things to check that your website can be crawled and parsed properly.
