*Rank* beginner

I am as far as having downloaded the latest WP, unstuffed it into an empty folder, and now looking at wp-config-sample.php in a text editor.

It looks as though I need to enter information, username, password, etc. into the various spots, but not entirely clear where I enter it, and whether/which things I need to overwrite in that file.

Any help here?
