Howdy ?? + first of all : thank you very much for providing this plugin. It works rather fine; but there’s one teensy issue I fail to understand which, perhaps, you can help me with:

When testing it, it attached the pulled-in image to the very first post on my testing environment (the infamous “Hello World” post all WP installs get).

I did not find where to change the default permapath, nor was I able to change the superfluous bit from the URL (it was in the non-editable part) or to detach the media library entry from its association with the post.

Do you perhaps have an idea how to mend this? ’cause I would love to use it, otherwise it seems to be exactly what I need/ed.

Much appreciated. + Best regards; eLeX

Thank you for using the plugin. This plugin only downloads the URLs you give it to your website using the native WordPress media library functions. It would then use whatever the URL of your website is.

Sounds like you are trying to change the URL of your website? Under the Settings option, you’ll find WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL).

    I may have misunderstood.

    Detaching images from posts:
Click on Media from the WordPress Admin menu.
Switch the view to Media List.
    Media List View
Find the media you would like to detach from a post or page within the list.
Verify under the “Uploaded to” column that the media is attached to the post or page.
Directly below the name of the post or page it should say “Detach”.
    Click on “Detach”.

Hello @notetoservices ?? + thank you very much for getting back to me.

That did the trick; switching to list view and use “detach” worked. (y)

Do you have any idea, tho’, why the sideload was attached to the post in the first place?

    Cheers ?? eLeX

I am not sure why it would do that, though being a new install and the only post, maybe it just attached to it as a default setting.

I have a test environment specifically for this plugin which I use to test changes and re-create bugs and it was on a brand new install, and I hadn’t noticed any images attaching themselves to posts. Glad it was cleared up though! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

For the time being, I am marking this as resolved.
