It just started doing this a few days ago … but it is now Randomly choosing a Category instead of defaulting to the category I told it to use.

Also, it is removing a portion of the Subject line from the email for no apparent reason. Email subject sent to the address Postie uses is in the format of “Wildcat Announcements 12-15-2015”. However, what Postie has been posting has been “Wildcat Announcements 122015” So it has been stripping out the dashes as well as the day between those dashes.

Sounds like you are running into the category ID feature. https://postieplugin.com/faq/override-post-categories/

12-15-2015 in the subject line tells Postie to look for category id 15.

The quick fix is to change your subject line. Wildcat Announcements 12.15.2015 would work fine.

I’ll look into a setting to control the category matching feature.

    Thank You.

Like I said, it just started doing this recently…prior to a few days ago, it allowed that format to work just fine (not sure if it coincided with a Version Update or if the plugin was updated) and never had any issues with the Category. Regardless, I did recommend changing the format to Month, Day, Year type of thing.

I suspect a number of categories or taxonomies got added recently which started matching up with the day of the month.
