    Hello

There is something wrong since the last plugin update

My feed is refreshed daily and suddenly today, facebook commerce tells me there is an error on the feed and that 2 products where rejected , so i check the error and it shows me that there are 2 products with the same exact ID

I check the product : the product is a writing pen which has 3 variations in color: Black, Red & Blue

I check the feed file and i can see that the file has the Black twice and the Blue but not the red. The black which is twice in the feed file is basically a copy paste of the same product, with the same ID etc etc

So I was puzzled. I decided to disable to red to see what happens
so i do that and refresh the feed and update facebook

Lo and behold facebook tells me again that there are 2 items which were rejected.
I check the error and this time another product which has 4 variations, encounters the same problem. this specific product didn’t have any error in the previous refresh of the feed when i got the error for the black blue and red pen.

The product is a drawing pencil and has 4 variations (HB, B, 2B, 4B)

I checked the feed file, same thing as before
i have 2 times the same variation (HB), the B is missing from the file, the 2B and 4B are present.

I don’t know what is happening but this started randomly after the last update

    Can you help ?

    thank you

    Hi,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.

These duplicate products can happen when your feed gets stuck during processing. Did you check the WooCommerce fatal error logs of the last couple of days to see if there is anything in those logs that might indicate something is wrong? You should specifically be looking at maximum CPU usage errors or maximum execution time errors.

This is where you can find the fatal error logs:

I just checked the fatal error as you asked, nothing there.
last small error was on october 21st so more than 28 days ago.
i am refreshing the feed right now to see what happens, i will report again in 5 min

    @supportadtribes any comments ?
i refreshed the feed multiples times and with the same result
i also tried deactivating the plugin first, then reactivate it and refreshing it with the same result
i checked the fatal error, and nothing it is all clear

There is definitely something wrong with the plugin

So remember the first product which had 3 variations Black,Blue,Red ?
in the feed the variations appeared as Black,Blue,Black (so the Black appeared twice and the red was not present)

What i did is to disable the Red variation and refreshed the feed

So this specific product with the variation Black,Red,Blue (red varition Disabled) didn’t return any error and showed the Black and Blue variations correctly but instead a different product which had 4 variations HB,B,H,2B and which in the first feed file appeared normally, started giving the error. The variations in the feed appeared as HB, HB,H,2B. So duplicate of the HB and the B didn’t appear.

So Next what I did is I re-enabled the RED variation of the first product and refreshed the feed.

What happedned is that the error reappeared in the first product with variation (Black,Red,Blue) giving duplicate of the Black and Red not appearing and the second product with variation (HB,B,H,2B) appeared normally in the feed file without any duplicates.

So the feed generator is generating the file with errors since we can reproduce the same errors again and again

we have tried to replicate the issue at hand a couple of times. For us all works fine. Are you sure you did not accidentely enable this checkbox causing the variations to be removed from your feed?

No the problem is not that any of the variations are being excluded from the feed but rather the feed is creating a duplicate of the same variation.

    It just happened again now.
I added a new product to woocommerce (Product C)

    i refreshed the feed.
What happened is that last time the problem (duplicate) appeared with a product let us call it B

since this time i added a new product, the duplicate in the feed moved to another product called C

    so to resume the situation
    Product A has variations called 1,2 3
Product B has variations called 4,5,6,7
Product C has variations called 8,9,10

at the beginning of the problem we had this in the feed
for Product A instead of having variations 1,2,3 we had instead 1,2,2 so the feed duplicated the variation 2 in the file

to do a test I edited the Product A and disabled variation 2
when i refreshed the feed, the problem moved to another product
Product A showed variations 1,3 (since variation 2 was disabled)
and suddenly product B which had its variations showing correctly previously (4,5,6,7) started showing 4,5,5,7 in the new feed file. So the feed duplicated the variation 5

Today I just added a new product to woocommerce and refreshed the feed
    Now suddenly
Product A is showing Variations 1,2,3 correctly
Product B which previously had a duplicate variation, showing in the feed as 4,5,5,7 instead of 4,5,6,7 started showing the variations correctly as 4,5,6,7

and now another product D which has variations 8,9,10 and was showing correctly in previous feed files, started showing a duplicate as 8,8,10 instead of the normal 8,9,10

so there is clearly something in the plugin duplicating variations randomly from product to product
