Random posts in a jquery slider?

Hi guys,

I am using the evander theme from jinsona (web2feel) and I have been trying to insert some kind of code to produce a random order to the posts in the jcarousellite. I’ve also tried the plug in’s “random posts” and “advanced random posts” and “advanced random post”

Everything I’ve tried has had no effect whatsoever. Nothing seems to effect the order in which the posts are displayed on the front page.
I’ve been reading up on how to insert a query string with a “randm” command into the loop, but with no results.

This is a very simplistic page. There’s only 1 category are no subcategories.
