We noticed a random meta data showing on the orders and some times the order qty and price is changing in the order details.

Also, noticed the SKU sometimes showing different product. I have added screenshots for the issue below.

On the below screenshots, you can see customer bought same products within 10-15min delay but one order details are mismatched.

    Problem : https://prnt.sc/p0dbGhk-BN59

    Real order : https://prnt.sc/6UuSR5O91v1j

Kindly note we disabled all the plugins except woocommerce and installed storefront but the issue still existing randomly.

    Hello ansondavis,

Thank you for contacting Woo support.

I understand you are facing an issue where random metadata is appearing on the Order detail page.
You have also noticed incorrect values for price, quantity, and SKU.

May I ask when this issue started?
Have you made any changes on the site that might have triggered this problem?

When you say the happens randomly, does it mean that the same order sometimes shows correct data and sometimes incorrect data? Or do you mean some orders show correct data permanently and some orders show incorrect data permanently.

To help you further, I’d like to review your site’s System Status Report.
You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.
Select Get system report and then Copy for support.

Once you’ve done that, you can paste the text in https://gist.github.com
After that, you can paste the Gist link here in your reply.

Looking forward to your response. ??

    Best regards.

    Hi,

Unfortunately, I’m not sure when it began, but the issue has been present for a long time. Some of the order items have mismatched SKUs and quantities within the same order.

    Hi @ansondavis

    Thanks for sharing additional information.

First, please update your WooCommerce database to the latest version to start troubleshooting this issue. To do so, head over to WooCommerce → Status → Tools, and do the following:

    • Update database – Update
    • Verify base database tables – Verify
    • WooCommerce transients – Clear
    • Expired transients – Clear
    • Clear template cache – Clear
    • Capabilities – Reset Capabilities
    • Clear customer sessions -Clear
    • Product lookup tables – Regenerate
    • Regenerate the product attributes lookup table – Regenerate

Next, please upgrade your PHP from 8.0.25 to 8.1.29. Also, the PHP Post Max Size should be increased from 100 MB to 2 GB and the PHP Time Limit from 60 to 1200 for better performance.

Once above adjustment done, please clear your browser and site cache and then check again.

I hope this helps! Please let us know how it goes or if you need further assistance.

    Hello ansondavis,

    Thank you for your reply.

    Let’s focus on this order:
    https://prnt.sc/URwABddQpJnR

Could explain what data is incorrect in this order and what should be the correct data?
Additionally, if you find any incorrect data in the order, could you check if that data is coming from another order?

I want to confirm whether the order data is getting mixed up or not.
And where is the incorrect data coming from?

While we troubleshoot this issue, could you ask your host to disable the Object Cache on the server?

This is a peculiar problem and we need to collect more information and analyze the data.
That we can figure out the cause of the problem and work towards a solution.

    Best regards.

    Hi,

If you look at the image below, the box I’ve highlighted contains data that we’re not sure where it’s coming from.

    https://prnt.sc/URwABddQpJnR

When we repeat the same order, sometimes different data appears in the meta, and other times the order data is correct. This inconsistent data is also showing up in emails, which is causing concern for our clients as they are seeing this junk data.

Thank you for the additional details. This is really interesting. Can you please run a conflict test to find out if something external is interfering?

To test, you’ll first want to change the theme on your site to Storefront or Twenty Twenty-Four, then check to see if the issue is still present. If that resolves the issue, you’ll want to get in touch with your theme’s developer and see if they have an update or fix for you.

If changing the theme doesn’t help, maybe it’s one of the plugins. I see there are 34 active plugins in there. One of them may be the culprit. You’ll want to deactivate all plugins except for WooCommerce and take a look (you can use one of WooCommerce’s core payment methods like cash on delivery to place your orders during these tests). If that fixes the problem, re-enable the other plugins one by one (gradually), checking after each to see where the issue is coming from.

    Some important considerations:?
    — Be sure you have a good backup in place of your full site and database. You can ask your host for backup functionality, or you can consider using a service like?Jetpack. If something goes wrong, you will be able to restore it.

    — Also, you can consider using a plugin like?Health Check & Troubleshooting. This is a plugin developed by the WordPress community, and it is helpful to disable plugins without affecting your current site visitors.

    — It is also important to consider staging functionality in case you would not like to touch your production site (you can ask your host if they offer this service), or you can use WP Staging to spin up a new test site quickly.

You can find more about this in this?guide.

Please let us know about your findings.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

On the staging site, we’re only using the WooCommerce plugin with the Twenty Twenty theme, but the issue still persists when a variable product is included in an order.

    Hi @ansondavis

I was trying to replicate the issue using a different WooCommerce version but couldn’t. This is how the order edit page looks like on my testing site.

Can you please disable all other plugins and code snippets and then place a test order and see what it looks like? For better assistance, can you provide a video showing the issue on your end, and step to reproduce?

For video, you may use https://loom.com or https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/. Please follow the instructions on that page and then paste the URL into this thread.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Hello ansondavis,

    Thank you for your reply.

I am not able to reproduce this issue on our test site.
This raises the question of what is interfering with the default WooCommerce function and causing this strange problem.

For further investigation, could you share the System Status Report of the staging site?
Please copy the full SSR (not redacted) and share it with me.

Additionally, edit the products you have added to the cart and share a video of the edit product screen.
I want to review the page and check if there is anything odd in there.

Once I have more information, I will be happy to assist you further.

    Best regards.

    Hi,

To test this, we have disabled all the plugins and themes except the woocommerce plugin and noticed the same issue existing after making all your suggestions.

I have added a screen video below as per your requirement.

    https://somup.com/cZQ61AmOPy

The WooCommerce status is added in the below link

    https://gist.github.com/ansondavis/29d9128318f3907b45f8ab2dd101fffb

please check and kindly advice a solution for these unwanted meta data in the order page, email, and thank you page.

    Hey, @ansondavis!

As I understand from your video and the thread, this only happens if a variable product is added to the cart, correct?

I see on the SSR you have two other plugins besides Woo active:

WordPress Backup & Security Plugin – BlogVault: by Backup by BlogVault – 5.73Variation Swatches for WooCommerce: by Emran Ahmed – 2.1.2

Can you please confirm if they were also disabled when you tested?

Also please share the Fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs. Then you can use the selector to search for Fatal Errors.
You could copy and paste your reply here or paste it via https://gist.github.com/ and send the link here.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hi,

I have disabled all plugins, including BlogVault and the Variations plugin, but the issue persists.

I noticed that this problem primarily occurs when a variable product is added to the cart. If there are no variable products in the order, the metadata issue doesn’t appear.

I’ve attached two screenshots for reference.

    Without variable products : https://prnt.sc/ZL1IOuoKW1hW

    With variable products : https://prnt.sc/3uB7gfqtBbQa
