    Hi,

We have a medium/large WordPress Multisite installation. We’ve been having a problem lately, with our users getting randomly logged out while using the service. This can happen when they are composing posts or pages and modifying settings in the admin area. It’s not often and it’s not consistent, which is frustrating.

We’re running WordPress 3.4.2 and have 575 sites and 2,743 users.

Any ideas on what we should be checking? Hardware/memory issue? Plugins or themes?

Has anyone else ever run into something similar.

    Any advice is appreciated.

    Sylvia

Did you ever figure this out? We are experiencing the same issue.

    Anything in your error logs?

Hmm, hadn’t noticed this before, but here’s what I have:

PHP Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /mywebsitepath/wp-admin/includes/plugin.php on line 1290, referer: https://mywebsite.com/subfolder/wp-admin/

It’s not being generated when the logout issue occurs though.

Unlikely to be an issue… Well. I wonder if WP 36 would help, since there are significant improvements to login retention.

    I guess we’ll find out in the not-too-distant-future. ??

Thanks for your input on this.

Our problem ended up being a custom plugin to authenticate with our campus server. It was developed in 2009 and the changes in WordPress since then seem to be causing the odd issues. We’re looking to re-write it or find a different solution using LDAP.
