Random Internal Server Error 500 on blog

  • Hi ive seen lots of questions on these topic with no real solution.
    I’m getting random Internal Server Error 500 on when browsing my blog (WP 2.6) . MY hosting compant said its a problem with wordpress.
    Does anyone have a clue how to fix it.

  • Could you, please, post here the content of the .htaccess file from your WordPress folder?

    If you are seeing the errors in IE then try another browser or with friendly errors turned off in tools -> internet options -> advanced (show friendly error messages). Then you may get a more explanatory WordPress error instead of a generic internal server error.

    If not then it’s probably a broken .htaccess file.

    i did this and im still getting the same erorr.
    any suggestions?

    The fact that your errors are random makes me think that the problem may be with your web host.

    Agreed. That plus the fact that it’s an actual 500 error and not a wp_die error.

    Does your .htaccess actually have quote marks in it?
