Random “\” character on send notifications

Hi.

I’ve set up various pre-written email notifications and, in each one, it’s producing a backslash character where it’s not meant to be.

Example:
The email template has: “1. Credit Card:?please click “MAKE PAYMENT”?button at top right and select STRIPE.”
But it displays as: “1. Credit Card:?please click \”MAKE PAYMENT\”?button at top right and select STRIPE.”

It’s also doing this on the word “we’ve”, turning it into “we\’ve”.

It would seem any kind of special character is causing this…maybe?
I’m using a mac if that’s of any help but I’ve copied the template text into a basic text editor to strip out any potential hidden formatting before copying it back in, but the problem still remains.
