quotation marks in content change to characters

Could you post what is the original character and what it becomes after ?

I just tried it again – before reading your reply. The quotes were okay. It looks like some occasional spaces change to characters. But not all all of the time.

It is working quite well. I will post again if I get a sample.

I did not copy the before – I did not anticipate a problem. (It had been working quite well today.) Now the new character is not replacing text or quotes – they are replacing spaces, looks like in the places I went back to insert a word or space, and where I double space at the beginning of sentences.

If I delete all the ? characters, then that is the actual text I wrote.
