Quotation marks
-
(By the way, by quotation marks I mean both ” and ‘ in this topic; see this article to understand what I’m talking about: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smart_quotes)
Hello, all. I hope you can help me. I noticed that my quotation marks have started being deformed by WordPress automatically. After some testing I noticed this only happens when the quotation mark follows a number.
For instance:
‘Iron Man 2’ breaks record
The first will stay what I want it to be, but the second one becomes a different type of quotation mark, different than the first.Bear in mind I know WordPress converts quotation marks to book quotes, curvy ones. The deformed ones, however, are like the ones in this section, specially in the HAL quotes: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smart_quotes#Typewriter_quotation_marks
For live examples, please visit my website. It’s in portuguese, but the quotation marks can be seen without hassle.
Here, no number before quotes, so no deforming: https://www.cinecartografo.com.br/blog/especiais/a-hora-do-pesadelo-original-inovou-o-genero-do-terror
Now here we have a number: https://www.cinecartografo.com.br/blog/noticias/no-brasil-homem-de-ferro-2-e-superado-por-alice
Of course, I was using titles as examples, but within the text you can see it happens as well. Just look for any numbers between quotes.
Anyway, I hope I managed to explain. All I want to know is if there’s a way to fix this, or maybe a workaround. I know I can just replace the quotes with their corresponding code, but I was wondering if there isn’t an easier, more user-friendly way.
Thanks in advance
