Quite polished, but not complete

  • Nicely polished plugin. However, almost everything is locked behind paid add-ons, even basic functionality such as:
    – Task comments
    – Notifications
    – Labels
    – Description field for tasks(!)
    – Attachments

    Each of the functionality above costs 25-50USD each (per year, presumably).

    Constructive criticism for the author: Charge for what established platforms like Trello don’t offer, instead of charging for something they provide for free.

    @reaser I’m sorry if we’ve offended you in some way. We’ve worked really hard over the last few months to learn from what other people are doing, while trying to build a business. If something we’ve done has come off as shady, please let me know.

    I’m pretty proud of our free plugin, which offers a fully functional Kanban board. We have a few hundred people using it, and so far the feedback has been positive. I recognize that charging for add-ons disagrees with some people, but it seems to be the status quo in the WordPress world. So our free version is not as feature rich as Trello or some other Kanban boards, but our business model is different. That’s why competition is great – you’ve got choices! ??

    How about a free trail period for add ons. Its difficult to judge your product as it is very limited in it current free state, your add ons look great but there is no way to judge there functionality without paying. Most of us have been burned in the past, paying for buggy or non functional add ons.

    @ahicks, great suggestion. We’re looking for a demo solution, and talking to one service that would like you spin up a demo with all the add-ons so you could try them. I’ll be blogging about that as soon as there’s news.

    (My clients using Trello basic free version)
