Two creative efforts to eliminate the Electoral College are Lawrence Lessig’s <a href="https://equalvotes.us">Equal Votes</a> and <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Popular_Vote_Interstate_Compact">The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact</a>. Equal Votes plans to launch legal challenges based on the Fourteenth Amendment’s equal protection clause, asking the Supreme Court to uphold, one person, one vote. The Compact works with state legislatures to agree together to award their electoral votes to the national popular vote winner, until participating states reach a 270 vote majority.
