Quick Search only posts or pages

I searched for this and was never able to find a satisfactory answer. I wanted to search my site, but only wanted to search post and not pages. The default search displays the results for pages first by date then posts by date. I knew there must be a quick way to search using the url line and finally figured it out. When using the search function just add this in the URL :

&post_type=post
for posts and

&post_type=page

for pages

your complete url would look like this:

https://www.mywebsite.com//?s=search+words&post_type=post
