Quick question about user account when posting with REST API

  • First off, thank you for this plugin! Exactly what I was needing. Everything was quick and easy to get running.

    On the WP install I am posting to, I also need to send out an email, when the new post is added. To do this, I am using a plugin called Better Notifications for WordPress. However, the plugin does not work when posts are added via the REST API.

    The plugin author had this question, about your plugin, and how it uses the user account when posting:

    The main question for any plugin that authorises a user via the WP REST API is:
    Are they overriding the current user and making it available to the WordPress core functions? If they are, then we should be able to trigger notifications for it.

    Is this something you can answer for me? If yes, we can get the other plugin working as expected.
