I’m getting “Security Header is not valid” error when I check out using PayPal Express. I do have Sandbox Mode disabled.

My client sent me the credentials he got from the API tool that is linked from PP Express checkout settings in woocommerce. One of the settings he sent me was called “Fingerprint”, which I assume was for meant for the “Live API Signature” field.

Is this correct? Or have I entered the wrong credentials into that field?

Also, just a heads up, I noticed on your PP Express docs, that your descriptions of the Live API Username, Password and Signature are all saying the same thing; to add the API Username into their respective fields.

    Thanks for all your help

Thanks for letting me know about those typos in the docs! I got that fixed.

Security header means the credentials are incorrect. It sounds like they didn’t send you the correct thing. I just checked that tool again myself, and this is what comes up when you log in with it (https://www.angelleye.com/images/forums/paypal-api-credentials-tool.jpg)

I’m really not sure where they would have seen a “Fingerprint”.

No worries, I know managing/supporting this awesome plugin is probably pretty involved, easy to miss things.

Yes I think you are probably correct, I’m waiting on him send me the correct login credentials. Hopefully that resolves this!

    Thanks again for your help

…I just wanted to share this with you. I heard back from my client and he said that they had issued him an API Certificate not an API Signature, so he did send me the correct info, it was just that it was not a signature. I guess they are going to switch it over.

I’ve no idea why they issued a certificate rather than a signature

…any thoughts on what that might be?

The first time you go through the API Credentials configuration manually it will ask if you want certificate or signature. They must have done that and chosen certificate.

Yep, turns out that’s what happened. Everything is working once we got the correct credentials.

    Thanks again
