When no featured image is assigned to a post/page it shows a blank space. If there IS an image, you can click on it to change it. Any chance, when there isn’t one, this could also be clickable so one can be easily added? Maybe replace the space with a thumbnail icon indicating no image, and this can be clicked on?

    Hi,

The expected behavior when no featured image exists (or if a featured image is later removed from a content item) is the display of clickable wording “Set Featured Image”. That allows you to Quick Add for those content items without a featured image.

Thank you for using my plugin.

Hi Sean. I’m not seeing that – I’m just getting a blank space.

    Hi David,

Sounds like a conflict with another plugin or a theme feature.

If you are able to try activating my plugin only on your WordPress installation with a WordPress theme like Twenty fifteen, Sixteen or Seventeen and see what happens.

If there is no issue then progress to using the desired theme / additional plugins activating them one by one to see if you still get the same issue.

Additionally, take a look in the browser console for any errors or informational notices that might link back to a theme or plugin.

If you are using a language variant of WordPress then there may not be a translation for “Set Featured Image” and hence it’s blank, however, I’m clutching at straws a little bit in the hope of inspiring a path to a solution.

Let us know how you get on.

    Thank you
