• The “Quick Edit” part of Pages/Posts does not currently link to anything. Edit, Trash, and View all work but Quick Edit doesn’t have a link. Below is a copy/paste of the site and you can see Quick Edit doesn’t have a link.

    Edit?|?Quick?Edit?|?Trash?|?View

I believe it has something to do with my database.
    I’ve tried:

    • Deactivating plugins
    • Switching to twentytwentyfour theme
    • Fresh WP install, making sure Quick Edit works, and them importing my database but once I imported the database Quick Edit stopped linking to anything again.
    • Spent time on forums and support with my host, WP Engine, but no one knows what is happening.

This is large site with ecommerce so I can’t rebuild a database very easily. Any ideas???

  • There are actually only two ways to deactivate Quick Edit:

    a) If you don’t have JavaScript activated in your browser (but then you can’t see it at all).
    b) You can use custom code to influence the actions and thus remove Quick Edit or make it unclickable, as in your case.

Did you have no plugins active and were you using a standard theme when you first installed it? Or did you activate the theme used by the project (due to the database import)? If so, that could be the reason.
