• Hi I was so happy to see the post’s quick edit has been implemented in 2.7, only to be disappointed that I got some error while updating them.
It shows me a red rectangular box, with number ‘0’ in it. All the other quick edit is not working as well.

Please help! And really appreciate for that!
    Robert

  • I started getting the little pink box with text that says Error saving data. Happened after updating some of the plugins. Regular edit works to update topics and keywords.

I’m at 2.71 and this feature worked flawlessly until yesterday. Tried a database repair. I’m going to start turning off plugins to see which one might have killed it if that is the problem.

This is still an issues for me. The error message is actually, “Error while saving the changes.”

This is still an issue. Quick Edit is broken in 2.8 as well. This has got to be related to a third party plug in. I deactivated the WordPress Firewall plugin but that didn’t help. I guess I need to turn them all off one by one to see what brings the functionality back. Hasn’t this happened to anyone else yet? It must have? I get “a red box that says “Error while saving the changes” when I try any edit using the Quick Edit window. It worked for a while under 2.7.

Found it! The plugin that causes the Quick Edit to fail is WordPress Wiki version 0.7 by Instinct Entertainment. I had activated it to try and wasn’t using but one test page. It is now uninstalled. I have no idea what code caused the problem other than in my setup removing this plugin removed the problem. (After more than an hour of activating and deactivating 60 plug ins.
