    Hello,

I installed Zedity for my nephew to enable him to easily create and edit pages. I’ve already installed the plugin “TinyMCE Advanced” but wanted to give him more possibilities with Zedity. Now I have some questions:

. In Zedity you can choose the page size. But as I think the page size is controlled from the “Template” dropdown menu on the right side of the standard page editor. So what for is the Zedity page size?

. When I create for example text with my TinyMCE Advanced editor, click in the middle of this text, go then to Zedity, create there text in a box with colored background and border and save it, only the text and no background color and box appears in the TinyMCE Advanced editor. By the way this behavior appears also when I use only the standard editor.

It would be nice if you could help me.

Thanks a lot already in advance.

    Albert

  • Hello Albert.
Thank you for your interest in Zedity.
    About your questions:

    – With Zedity you can insert a “Page” (or call it content if you wish) inside a Blog post. The Page Size, is the size in pixels of the content that you are going to insert in your Blog post. So if you have a size of let’s say 500×500 pixels, you will insert in your blog post a block of content 500 pixels wide x 500 pixels tall.

    – Is this happening inside the WordPress editor or once you publish the post? This might be related to the template you are using, if you can give me a link to your blog post, I can advice you or release a fix in the next version.

    Thanks yurig!

Actually I want to use Zedity for a WordPress PAGE and not Post. This is happening in the WordPress editor. I don’t have an example, I’ve only tested and not published it.

Please report the templates you are using (both front and admin templates) so we can better help you.

A while ago there seemed to be a problem with the new release.
Could you be so kind to please try the following steps:

    • delete your current version
    • re-download (do not use the .zip you used before, re-download it now) and re-install the latest version
    • try to reproduce the problem you have in a new page

I deleted the old version, installed the new one, produced a text box with background and border and got again ONLY the text.

The team tried to reproduce the problem you described but everything seems to work correctly on our machines: that suggests that it may occur in some very particular cases and system configurations, considering also that, for now, no other user reported the same problem.
However, as we keep on developing the plugin, we’ll keep on trying to look for what can cause that problem and then release the fix in one of the next releases of course. Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause to you, and thank you for your understanding.

Stay tuned for updates and we hope you can enjoy Zedity!

Have you tried it on the newest WordPress Version 3.6?

    Albert

    (@zuyoy)

Yes. It does not seem to be about the WordPress version but the browser instead.
A while ago, I tested it on Mac/Firefox and I was able to reproduce the issue you reported. This is good news because we can now look for the root cause. With all other browsers it works well on any browsers (tested on both Mac Os (10.8.4) and Windows 7).

    1) Can you please confirm that you’re having the problem only with Firefox and not other browsers?

    2) What Firefox version are you using?

    3) What is your operating system? (Windows, Mac OS, Linux)

    (@albert0346)

Halleluja, we got it! It works on Chrome, but NOT on Firefox 23.0.1 with Windows 8.

Yeah! It only happens on some of the most recent versions of Firefox, which introduced some modifications that broke a check in our code. The fix will be released shortly (within today).
