I have been looking to apply a style created by me in Mapbox, from what I’ve seen the style option puts something in the custom CSS field so I assume it’s possible, but I have no idea what to reference or where.

As we mentioned in the document, the Advanced setting allows you to add a custom CSS class to your map so that you can do your own custom CSS styling if desired. You can find it like this in the right sidebar in the Block Editor https://d.pr/i/ecExDx

To add the custom CSS code, you can add it with your child theme CSS file or go to Customize -> Additional CSS.
