    HI,

I’m working on my first quiz since the update to 7.0 and ran into some trouble with the questions: I can create them, I can preview them – but I can’t re-access them in edit-mode if I leave the edit mode and then try to go back. The questions that I created are there in the preview screen but the edit screen claims that the quiz does not have any questions yet. I’m on my 2nd attempt now, with the same end-result (deleted the first attempt and started again). I’ve tried purging cache and clearing the browser cache, but it doesn’t make any difference. Thanks so much in advance for your help!

    @expresstechsupport I’ve archived your reply.

While I know you have the best of intentions, it’s forum policy that you not ask users for admin or server access. Users on the forums aren’t your customers, they’re your open source collaborators, and requesting that kind of access can put you and them at high risk.

If they are paying customers (such as people who bought a premium service/product from you) then by all means, direct them to your official customer support system. But in all other cases, you need to help them here on the forums.

Thankfully are other ways to get information you need:

    You get the idea.

We know volunteer support is not easy, and this guideline can feel needlessly restrictive. It’s actually there to protect you as much as end users. Should their site be hacked or have any issues after you accessed it, you could be held legally liable for damages. In addition, it’s difficult for end users to know the difference between helpful developers and people with malicious intentions. Because of that, we rely on plugin developers and long-standing volunteers (like you) to help us and uphold this particular guideline.

When you help users here and in public, you also help the next person with the same problem. They’ll be able to read the debugging and solution and educate themselves. That’s how we get the next generation of developers.

    Hi,

As we aren’t experiencing this issue at our end. I suggest you to please check for plugin or theme conflict. To do this, disable all of the plugins at once and enable them one by one by checking which one is causing the conflict. If this does not resolve the issue, change the website’s theme to another theme and check whether the issue is resolved or not.

    Please let me know.

    Kind regards,
    Kriti

    Hi Kriti,

And thanks for you quick reply. After letting the issue rest over the weekend, I just gave it another shot and this is what I can gather:

I re-entered all the quiz questions again, went away from the questions page, then went back – only to witness, that no questions were showing again on the edit screen. In the preview, however, I could see one question (out of 25 that I had entered).

Purging cache didn’t help, but then I switched the cache off altogether while feeding the questions in – and that seems to do the trick! So, somehow I think it’s a cache-related issue. (I’m using LiteSpeed Cache but I don’t know if it’s a particular cache tool related or a general cache-related issue).

Anyway, it seems that I’ve found an adequate workaround that I can live with (as long as I can remember to switch the cache back on when done :))

Thanks once more for an overall very handy app!

It’s great to know that you have found the cause. I suggest you to please keep the cache plugin disabled.

    Kind regards,
    Kriti
