Questions, no answers – please help!

  • Hi,

    I fancied learning something new so I’m trying to get my own website up (www.marketingpost.info) and have a few questions I hoped someone could help out with, any help on some / any points would be super-appreciated.

    I have made a number of edits to the template and was feeling very proud but have got stuck on the following:

    1. I would like to delete the ‘Subscribe by email’ and ‘Subscribe to RSS’ text links in the navigation bar and replace these with RSS icon, facebook icon, twitter icon and digg icons (all linked to respective sites). So far I have only got one RSS icon (not linked)

    2. I would like to center the page titles in navigation bar (it’s currently left aligned) so that they are in the middle of the page (but the icons mentioned in point 1 above are right aligned)

    3. I’ve read that the youtube video size cannot be amended (I have put in a dummy post about Superbowl) so how do I move the 2nd & 3rd columns over to make room? Ideally, I’d like to delete one of the columns and make the remaining one wider on the right hand side.

    Then 1 minor picky point:
    – How do I change the colour of the light blue text box (currently used for email subscribe)? I have managed to change every other colour but cant find this one!

    Thanks so much for any help, if helping with code please could you let me know which file I should be looking at (style.css, header.php etc.) as it’s not obvious to me!

    Thanks OPCIN, really helpful. I have to head out for a few hours now (it’s Valentines, I’d be in a lot of trouble if I didn’t go ?? but I’ll be back online shortly.

    1. Should be doable using a little CSS and some markup additions to one of your theme template files. If you post a link to your site, people may be able to provide you with more specific details.

    2. As above.

    3. Possibly best handled via a single column custom page template.

    Via your theme’s stylesheet.
