    Hi,

Recently, in order to force re-generate meta description, I accidentally drop three tables: wp_yoast_*, and I thought they would be re-generated. However, even after I re-installing the plugin, these three tables still not there. The plugin works fine and meta-description works as I excepted, only these three tables disappear as if they are useless. Is there any information about these three tables(do I need to restore them)? Thank you!

    Hello Truxton,

Thanks for reaching out regarding the plugin tables.

The following tables should be present with an installation of the Yoast SEO plugin:

    wp_yoast_indexable
    wp_yoast_indexable_hierarchy
    wp_yoast_migrations
    wp_yoast_primary_term
wp_yoast_prominent_words (note: only available in Yoast SEO Premium)
    wp_yoast_seo_links
    wp_yoast_seo_meta

You mentioned three tables were not regenerated after re-installing the plugin. Can you mention those three tables? Also, have you run the SEO data optimization analysis in WordPress > SEO > Tools?

    Hi,

    I drop these tables:

    wp_yoast_indexable
    wp_yoast_indexable_hierarchy
    wp_yoast_migrations
    wp_yoast_primary_term
    wp_yoast_seo_links

And after re-activating(even delete and re-install) yoast SEO, all these five tables did not re-generate. In yoast->tools, I do not have a button to optimize data because the plugin show me that “SEO data optimization complete”. Although these tables do not exist, the html <header> still shows that yoast seo works normally.

Thanks for providing more details, Truxton.

?Can you please try resetting our indexables in the database tables by following the steps below?

    – Install & activate the?Yoast Test Helper plugin
    – Go to Tools > Yoast Test
    – Locate the Yoast SEO section and click on the ‘Reset indexables tables & migrations’, ‘Reset Prominent words calculation’, and ‘Reset Internal link counter’ buttons. After each click, the page will reload to confirm that each reset was successful.?? Note: Resetting the optimization doesn’t undo any of the hard work you’ve put into the plugin as the SEO data is also stored in WordPress’ default tables. It’ll just reset the custom Yoast tables that contain the combined data pulled from those default tables.
    – Go to SEO > Tools, and under SEO data, click the “Start SEO data optimization” button to allow Yoast to rescan your?content.

Do let us know how it goes.
