I’m not finding how to use this editor. Help appreciated:

1) How do we indent lines, as in showing a file directory hierarchy? On “Post” leading spaces are removed. Someone said “use Code Tag”. There’s a button above named “Code”; click it and it inserts a mysterious and nearly invisible something, like maybe an asterisk. So?

2) How do we quote from someone else’s post. I see others do it, but nothing to suggest how.

3) How do we close a thread, i.e., signal that it has been “resolved”?

1. To make a code block, you use a back tick (look below the message window where it says allowed markup for an example).

2. Block quote ?? you press the b-quote button, copy/paste the text you want to quote, press it again, done. Just like with HTML.

3. Right hand side of your post, in the about this post column.

I assume this is a backtick at left
   and the indents will
      survive

which looks good so far.
And I now see the “resolved” option up top, but I’d better not select yet until I’m sure I’m doing this correctly.

Seems ok to me. If you need to post large blocks of code, please use a pastebin (Alternate URL). Thanks!
