• Hi! Three questions about the slider:
    1) Whenever I upload an image to the ThinkupSlider, even an image that I edit so it should be small enough to fit comfortably in the slider, it is either resized or cropped automatically by the end product. How do I prevent this?

    2) When I try to use a third-party slider (in this case, I tried the Meta Slider plugin), it destroys the page layout, and the “Featured Area” boxes overlap the slider, like the div which normally holds (and formats) the Thinkup slider isn’t used for the custom slider. Is there a way to fix this?

    3) What are the ideal dimensions for an image for the Thinkup Slider? I’d like to use it, since it’s built in so nicely, but I can’t seem to ever get an image to look good in it!

Questions 1 and 3 also apply for the image for the Featured Areas. Can’t seem to get those to work either…

Hello, I have the same question about the ThinkupSlider. I would like to prepare my images to perfectly fit into the slider.

Yup, I have the same problem. Looking for a solution…

Ok, I have sorted this. The problem is that we have all thought that the theme would take resized photos and post them. Provided the height of the photo is the same as the ‘Slider Height’ then we shouldn’t have to worry about the width, right? WRONG

The slider will only (possibly, I have not tried different sizes) accept a photo that is 1500 (width) x 350 (height). The chances are that if you resize a photo to this size then you will have to ‘un-tick’ any aspect locking and the result will be that this will distort the photo.

The way around this is to start with a blank canvass with the same colour as the background colour of your site and set to 1500×350. Then past your photo on to it and then save the canvas as a jpg. You can then use this photo for the slider.

This nugget of info would have saved me hours. I hope this helps someone else.
