    Hi! Me again, testing your plugin further. I am looking to get some answers about specific functionality I would like from this plugin and I would appreciate your expertise. I am also looking to confirm which features are only available in the Free or the Pro version of the plugin.

    1. I saw that masking the bidder name is possible in the Pro version, is it possible in the Free? Is the bidder name masked even if they bid without an account using the email option? In the Pro version, masking the bidder is possible for just a simple auction (not proxy or reverse)?
    2. When I tested winning an auction, as the winner I received an email notifying me of my win and on the auction page a modal appeared to tell me that I had won the auction. But once the modal was dismissed, the page itself did not tell me anything about what to do next. Is it possible to offer the winner a Pay Now button/link or could we add some instructions to a “won auction” page to let the user know to look for the email with the link to pay? I want to ensure that the winner is not confused about what to do next after they have won.
    3. In the notification emails I received about bidding on my test auction, the auction description was included but all line breaks had been removed, which did not look very nice. Is there a specific HTML we need to use to ensure the line breaks are carried over from the auction page to the email copy of the item description?

    Thank you for your time!

  • Hello @sunhawk,

    1) We have developed the mask username functionality in the Ultimate WooCommerce Auction Pro plugin. The mask username functionality is not available for the free version of the auction plugin. It is only available for the Pro plugin. It works for all types of auction products including simple auctions, proxy auctions, and silent auctions. We have provided settings to enable the mask username option for simple, proxy, and silent products. Please review the below attachment.

    2) When the auction expires and the highest bidder wins the auction, the winning email goes to the winner. It includes the winning auction title, URL, highest bid value, auction description, and payment information. The free plugin provides the below payment methods for making payment.

    -> PayPal
    -> Wire Transfer
    -> Cheque
    -> Cash

    Admin needs to select any one payment method while creating each new auction. So, when the auction expires, the payment details are shown in the winning email accordingly. The payment information depends on which payment method is selected for a specific auction. If you want to display this payment information on the auction detail page, you need to customize the auction plugin code.

    Currently, we have added the code for the payment method in the email template file.
    Go to Ultimate Auction -> email-template.php

    If you want to display payment information to the winner on the product detail page, you need to add the custom code to the below file.
    Go to Ultimate Auction -> auction-shortcode.php

    3) The description format you added to the auction is not displayed in the email as the same format. It is displayed as a paragraph in an email. It is a plugin issue. We will fix it and update it in the next release of the plugin update.

    Thank You

    Thank you @payalrajyaguru you have been very helpful!

    1. Thanks for confirming that bidder masking is available on all auction types but only for the Pro version of this plugin.
    2. For editing the plugin files auction-shortcode.php or email-template.php what is the best way to customize these two files but also make it so they are not overwritten when the plugin is updated? I know how to create a child theme to allow edits for a WP theme, is there a method you recommend for creating a “child” plugin of your auction plugin?
    3. Oh that’s great that you are going to fix this issue! I don’t mind if the email version lacks any text formatting such as bold, italic, etc. It’s mainly the lack of line breaks that made the text look like one giant paragraph which looks messy, because I am testing for an item that has a long and detailed description with multiple paragraphs.

    Hi @sunhawk,

    We suggest you that please list all your requirements and queries regarding customization and post them using this contact form. We will check and update you.

    Thank You
