questions about permalink structure and upload folder

    Hello,

    I am just starting with WP Mu. So far everything works perfectly. However I have a couple of questions before I start uploading new contents.

    First of all, regarding the permalink structure. In Super Admin > Sites > Edit:
    1/ Will changing the permalink structure from /blog/ to nothing will effectively remove the ‘blog’ part in the URLs displayed?
    2/ Would this action have any side effects?
    3/ Is it normal to only have %postname% instead of /blog/%postname%/ for additional websites?

    Now regarding the upload folder, the default folders are:
    for https://127.0.0.1/mip/ => wp-content/uploads/
    for https://127.0.0.1/mip/es/ => wp-content/blogs.dir/2/files
    Is this correct?

    1. Yes

    2. Yes! If you EVER change your permalinks on the main blog, they’ll be wiped out and you have to go and edit it again.

    3. No. /blog/%postname% is normal. If you must get rid of /blog/ I would never consider using /postname/ due to the high risk of sub-site name collisions.

    Now regarding the upload folder, the default folders are:

    for https://127.0.0.1/mip/es/ => wp-content/blogs.dir/2/files

    I have done a fresh install of my WP Mu Network. The /blog/ slug now appears in my settings for all websites of the network.

    Oh and I just found out that the /blog/ part only shows up for the Post type. I am only using Pages and Custom Post Types based on Pages so I don’t even need to remove it.
