Questions about nested posts, categorie moderation and Q&A function

    I tried to create an account in your forum, but unfortunately I did not receive an email with a password request. I tried this with 2 different names and email addresses and nothing arrived. Thus here at this point my questions:

    One layout can do this, the other layout can do that…. but none can do it properly or I can’t find any options to show or hide.

    Q&A function but display last threads in overview:
    We want to use the threaded layout, because we don’t need a category overview on the forum landing page. Only the last created threads should be displayed. The Treaded layout can do that, but what it can’t do is mark a post as solved so that it appears at the top (just below the question).

    Nested Posts:
    Next problem, which was not solved very nicely. There should be a classic variant for direct and quoted replies, and not that a reply to a post is always put directly below on the replied/cited post, but simply at the very bottom, below the penultimate one. How can something like this be implemented? I have not found a setting option for this. I know that all new forum softwares based on Disqus as well as your “wpDiscuz” use this method, but there are still people out there who are not so familiar with the internet and forums or are used to the classic variant. So there should be at least an option to switch here -> did I miss it?

    Moderators for categories:
    It is missing the possibility to use moderators directly for a category. There should be an easy way -> go to Forums – Select a forum and as it goes with categories and tags -> Create a moderator for this forum. Moderators could be set as these directly in user edit and also created like wordpress posts/categories/tags. A bulk option would be quite helpful for this. This would make management a lot easier with over 100 categories and over 30 moderators ; )

    I wouldn’t mind if the plugin would be charged for such features. As I have observed over the last few months, your support is really great and the plugin runs completely bug free with all themes tested. We have raised a large QuA community with EasyDiscuss (Joomla) and want to move, but unfortunately lack the above to get started with it directly. Maybe we can get into a dialogue.

    You can keep it hidden, just set [Collapsed] for “Q&A Layout – Recent topics” option in Dashboard > Forums > Settings > Forums Tab.

    The Treaded layout can do that, but what it can’t do is mark a post as solved so that it appears at the top (just below the question).

    It can. The topic owner, moderators and admins can set it solved. The solved button is located under the first post, screenshots:

    You just need to set the “Threaded Layout – Replies Nesting Levels Deep” option “0” in Dashboard > Forums > Settings > Topics & Posts Tab.

    In wpForo the way to set moderators to a specific category is a bit different.
    1. You should create new moderator usergroups for each category you want to have separate moderators.

    2. Change moderator users usergroups to the new corresponding Moderator Usergroups.

    3. Then you should edit the category and all sub forums one by one and grant “Moderator Access” to the new preferred Moderator-X Usergroup.

    Make sure the default Moderator Usergroup is not assigned to category specific moderators. This is the general moderator usergroup, it grants moderator access to all categories and forums.

    Hi there and thank you for going into this all.

    As I wrote, we want the list of threads to be displayed not hidden – this is the reason we choose the threaded layout. But the problem is -> you can not marke a post inside a thread as solved – you can just solve the whole thread. On modern Q&A its possible to show the solved post (inside a thread) below the question (1st post).

    2. Classic variant to show quotes/replies on a post as new post, not nested on the quoted post
    This is not working. When I replay to a post, the replay will nest on the post and will not be a fresh post below all other posts.

    3. Moderator on category
    This will be a superhazard on over 100 categories and 100 moderators.

    Again thank you for going into this but OK, I see – we can’t use this plugin and stay with EasyDiscuss on Joomla.
