questions about EDD features & integration

  • I am looking for a single payment gateway (preferably Stripe) + EDD + a membership plugin. I like s2Member (membership plugin) but they currently don’t integrate with Stripe as a payment gateway. Also, I understand there may be some other conflicts with downloading digital products (https://easydigitaldownloads.com/support/search/page/2/?bbp_search=s2member) between the two plugins.

    This is what I want the membership plugin to provide/accomplish: The membership plugin accepts membership registrations, sort members into chapters, etc. But then I need to sell those members products & services, ideally through EDD. This is what we will be selling on the site: memberships, digital audio, visual and ebooks (pdf format), hard books, access to online training (a certification program and also webinars).

    I’ve also just learned about EDD + Restrict Content Pro (both written by Pippin). Has the integration piece to EDD been completed?
    Last, we would like to be able to minimize the unauthorized distribution of our pdf books. I’ve seen one site produce a unique date and purchaser stamp right on the pdf which is not removable. All suggestions & advice appreciated. Thank you.

    RE; that last item, ejunkie.com has a function that allows the seller to “stamp” the purchaser’s name and email address onto the PDF and deliver it instantly upon purchse – thereby discouraging redistribution. The file must be secured because it is not editable after that info is stamped within it.

    I’m working with Erik on this project.
    1. Has the integration piece for RCP to EDD been completed? If not, when will it be available?
    2.Can EDD +RCP both work with Stripe? Single gateway for both? Same user experience (checkout, payment page, confirmation email) no matter what is purchased whether it’s a hard or digital product?
    3. If a new user purchases a membership I assume they create a login and pw sometime during the payment process. Once the payment has been made do they get instant access to their membership page or do they need to wait and get an email confirmation before they can login as a member?

    2. Yes, but they each need their own Stripe gateway extension.

    3. Yes, they get immediate access to their membership.
