    Hello,
We came across your EBD Plugin and have several questions. We noticed on your Plugin page under Description you mentioned your Plugin had been in hiatus (looks like about 3 years or so of no updates – reading through some of the reviews and support questions) and that someone recently reached out to you to get EBD back on track (looks like as of this writing Plugin was last updated 2 months ago). How confident can we as consumers be that EBD will continue to update regularly and not let it lapse.

We currently use Download Monitor and see that it integrates with EBD. We have Download Monitor set up so when someone clicks a PDF they will get an instant Download. We want to change that where someone will now need to supply name and email and when clicked gets the instant PDF download.
Will EBD let us collect Email and Name or only just Email and if we can get Name (along with Email) make them required fields?
Can we use just EBD and Download together or do we have to add in Contact Form 7?

Let’s say we have 5 PDF’s and want to give the customer the choice to Instant Download 1 of the 5 PDF’s, or 3 of the 5 PDF’s or all 5 PDF’s – is there a way to give them a selection choice?

Thank You in advance for your advice,
    Ruth

My apologies for the duplicate question – the system seemed to have flagged my first attempt to ask my question as Spam – not sure why – so I changed my Subject Heading and asked the same question. I can’t see how to delete a question.

    Hi @meruth101,

Thank you for reaching out. No worries about the duplicate question, I will resolve the other thread. You can be very confident as consumers that EBD will continue to update regularly, in fact, we are in the process of releasing a pro version as well as maintaining our current free version. Updates are regular and the forum is patrolled daily. In regards to the following:
“We want to change that where someone will now need to supply the name and email and when clicked gets the instant PDF download.” – EBD collects both name and email fields by default, which can be exported to CSV file.
“Can we use just EBD and Download together or do we have to add in Contact Form 7?” – Contact Form 7 is required when using our plugin.
“Let’s say we have 5 PDF’s and want to give the customer the choice to Instant Download 1 of the 5 PDF’s, or 3 of the 5 PDF’s or all 5 PDF’s – is there a way to give them a selection choice?” – For this in the EBD settings we have ‘Multiple URL Template’. Upon configuration of these settings allows for a picklist of downloads where a user can specify which downloads/ files they want to download after filling out the CF7 form.

    Hi @mandsconsulting.
OK – so these items that we would like to do – and you gave the answers too – these are available to do in your free version of the EBD WordPress Plugin?
    Thank You,
    Ruth

    Hi @mandsconsulting,
Great!!! Do you happen to have any videos on YouTube showing how to use EBD and integrating it with Contact Form 7? We will also add Mailchimp extension to Contact Form 7 so if you have videos on the process (EBD–>Contact Form 7–>MailChimp) as well it would be helpful.

    Thank You,
    Ruth

    Hi @meruth101,

We do not have any youtube videos showing how to integrate it but we do have screenshots and steps listed in our FAQ. All you have to do is make sure EBD, CF7, and Download monitor are installed and active. Once you use the shortcode provided in our FAQ, EBD will display the contact form then once filled out will display the download.

HHi: This is super helpful. I have a couple questions following along on this string.

1- Iin the future someone who has already supplied their email returns and we add new downloads, will they be recognized so they don’t need to sign up again?
2- And what’s the max number of downloads that can be accessed under the ‘multiple url template’.
3- The prior user references the MailChimp add on. We want to ensure this gets connected back to our MailChimp account, is that how it would be achieved? Would they then be added to our MailChimp list?

    Hi @kjsmith2000,

1). We don’t support signed up/in concept, we’re assuming the user is coming to the site anonymously so each time we present the same form for the user and they have to enter email (and maybe other data).
2). We don’t limit the number of downloads for the multiple options, though you have to be reasonable to avoid performance issues,
3). We do not work with the MailChimp add-on, so probably you have to think yourself about how to achieve what you need.

    Hope this helps!
