Questions about Cookie Consent Banner

    Hi,

    Up until now I’ve used a separate plugin to have a cookie consent banner, but of course I’d like to use the Shareaholics one as I’m already using Shareaholics. a Few questions, though:

    – Will visitors see this every time they visit the site? Is there not a way to make sure they only see the banner, for example, every month?
    – The banner does not seem to be WPML compatible. With a regular plugin, you can translate things like things by using WPML within WordPress, but as this banner is activated from the Shareaholics site and not from within WordPress, that doesn’t work. Will WPML compatibility be added in the future?

    Hey Hngu,

    I just tried with IE: opened the browser, went to my site (yes, wonderfulwanderings.com), clicked “okay” on the cookies bar, closed the browser, opened it again, went back to my blog and there the cookie bar was again.

    Also: I’ve had this problem with my old theme and I have it now with a completely custom theme.

    I was using Weaver II Pro before and am on Genesis, a custom theme now.

    Ok there is one more thing I would like you to verify. Can you do the following:

    – Open Chrome in “incognito” mode
    – Visit your website
    – Click Ok on the cookie consent banner
    – Open the Chrome Developer Tools (follow instructions for accessing devTools https://developer.chrome.com/devtools#access)
    – Run the following code: document.cookie and save the result
    – Refresh the page
    – Run the following code: document.cookie and save the result
    – Email me both results ([email protected])

    Basically, once you open it up, there should be a console tab where you can type that code. The screenshot also has the code typed in for you.
