Hey, love all your plugins. Using 3 of them right now.

I have the schema removal plugin installed because I use the genesis framework.

In the future, would this new schema plugin remove the schema on the genesis framework instead of just using 2 plugins to achieve same results?

I’m running the beta version of the framework right now. Would you need to update any plugins when the final release comes out at the end of this week (I think that’s the targeted release date)

Also for your schema plugin, do you plan to have a detailed guide on what each setting actually does? I know what they do but newbie bloggers may not.

    Hi Derek,

Glad to hear you like the plugins.

Since we have the Schema Removal plugin, I was thinking of its future, at some point I will be updating the plugin with a settings page to allow you remove schema markups by choice, also I am not sure yet if that plugin will support other themes along with Genesis, it could happen. Even we can do plugins too!

So, for the Schema plugin, I prefer not to add a new option or setting field unless I am sure it should be there, or then it shouldn’t be added to the plugin, this to keep the Schema plugin simple as possible.

That’s why I am not going to add this as part of the Schema plugin at this time.

Yes, certainly there will be a guide and documentation for Schema plugin, mostly I will prepare something over at schema.press site, which will be dedicated for Schema plugin.

P.S. There is no problem of having another plugin if you think it’s useful for your site, plugins do not really make that big difference in performance.

I am using Genesis myself on a few sites, which allows me to do live testing, I will try to keep the plugins up to date as possible.

    Derek,

I’ve thought about this over and over, in the next Schema plugin update 1.5.4, I will be adding integration for Genesis, this integration will remove Genesis schema CreativeWork type and replace that with what you’ve decided to output via Schema plugin.

This update will keep other Schema parts as it is (Example: WPHeader, WPSideBar, etc…)
