    Hi Mikey

Just wondering – what is the very last file to get backed up to Dropbox? I do a monthly manual check of all my Dropbox backup folders to make sure that my sites were backed up successfully. Currently I view the ‘Last Modified’ date of the ***-backup-core.sql and ***-backup-plugins.sql files and check that it was in the last week.

I guess I should really be checking the last modified date of the very last file to be backed up. Or would that not have a recent modified date if it hasn’t changed lately? Or maybe the plugin should write a file with a new modified date to Dropbox at the very end of the whole backup process?

    Comments greatly appreciated.
    Cheers
    Matt

    Gday Matt,

The plugin will only upload files that have changed since the last backup. So if you do not upload media, add plugins or alther themes often, then the only files that will change each time, are the two SQL dumps.

    Cheers,
    Mikey

    Good to know, thanks Mikey

It’d be cool if the plugin wrote the log file / logs to Dropbox as the last thing it does. That way one could be sure of it successfully fully backing up to Dropbox.

    Thanks again
