• I am using this plugin to send messages from an AWS Lightsail instance, IP 18.221.208.66. I have EASY WP SMTP configured to RELAY through our corporate mail service being provided by GOOGLE.

I have SPF/DKIM/DMARC SETUP, so all our outbound mail is signed and authorized.

But one of the SPAM listing agencies has 18.221.208.66 listed on their blacklists b/c, their words, “18.221.208.66 is in a bad neighborhood” meaning we are guilty simply by association.

If I block SMTP from this hosted VPS, will EASY WP SMTP still be able to relay mail? Or is it dependent upon local SMTP service?

I’m trying to figure out how to address this issue of being guilty by association, though we follow good mail security and signing rules and don’t spam.

So I guess I’m just wondering if I block SMTP on this host, will EASY WP SMTP still be able to relay off of our google servers?

  • Hi,

You will have to investigate this issue with them. Our plugin has no control regarding this.

So I guess I’m just wondering if I block SMTP on this host, will EASY WP SMTP still be able to relay off of our google servers?

I am not sure myself. I almost certain that blocking SMTP in your server will probably stop our plugin from working.

    Kind regards
