• i’ve noticed recently that there has been a couple of other members localising for swedish. superb.
what i would say though is that it may be less work intensiv if we all work on the same document.
i’ve done a .po/.mo but i by no means own these files or the work that has gone into them. they’re free for all input change and it would make much more sense if we focused effort on a strong translation in one file other than personalised versions.
i’m not a native swede and it therefore goes without saying that the work i’ve done on the sv_SE localisation is full of holes that need to be filled.
as long as we all utilise the same files and log changes, small or large, the end result can only be an increasingly tight localisation that can be included in wp as a standard plugin (perhaps).
with that in mind perhaps the wp devs could open up a space on the cvs for all collected .po/.mo files. each translator can add their name in poedit so that it shows in the .po and we could create some sort of dialog about any finer points of, in this case, english>swedish translation.
i’ll lay up the .po as a download this evening. anyone interested in working on the swedish localisation can mail me on
    [email protected]
so we can get our heads together.
jag tycker fanimej att det skulle vara skitkul att skapa en stabil ??vers?¤ttning f??r WordPress som, med tanken p?¥ at det ?¤r ??ppetk?¤lla, ?¤r en av de b?¤sta verktyg som finns.
    cheers – r.

  • I changed almost all of that translation for my own needs and it is available at https://www.cdr.se/sv_SE.po. Still a work in progress (as usual).

it would be a huge step forward in the swedish localisation if you were willing to place your .po on the wiki, it being written by a swede and not an englishman for starters and being far more recognisable as the swedish common to users with that mother tongue for that.

Sure, should I make a second, alternative entry?

nope, just replace it, though perhaps indicate the change in charset.

Sorry for the delay but I’ve had hardware problems that required some attention. I updated the wiki and also got a new test site up and running. Both use UTF-8 and I really hope it works as it does for me. Feedback and updates are always nice, keep them coming! ??
