• Originally posted in the wrong forum. Here is my quesion.

I have a couple www.remarpro.com sites. I use the Jetpack plugin that allows me to connect them all to my wordpress.com account.

Today I got an email saying that I had subscribed to one of my own www.remarpro.com blogs. I don’t even know how I could have done this.

I know I have email subscriptions set up through mailchimp. And I used to have an RSS button for news readers, but Chrome didn’t like that so I removed it.

How does someone “subscribe” to one of my blogs so that wordpress.com sends me a notification? I’m really confused on this. I would really like to figure this out so that I can make this subscription option more obvious on my blog.

    Thanks

Ok, For anyone interested I think I might be understanding whats going on.

I’m using the Mailchimp Social widget which modifies the comment field and removes the checkboxes for subscribing to the blog, and the comments even though they are checked to be visible in my dashboard settings.

I replied to a users comment and it likely auto subscribed me to my own blog.

But I’m open for feedback from anyone who has ideas.

A good place to start would be to look at the email you received:

Was that email sent from WordPress.com, from Mailchimp, or from a different service? It should tell us more about where you subcsribed.

Jetpack includes 2 subscription checkboxes that you can indeed turn on under Settings > Discussion in your dashboard, but I’m not sure why the Mailchimp Social widget would hide those options. The checkboxes are also not checked by default, so it wouldn’t automatically subscribe you as you comment.

Jetpack also doesn’t subscribe you right away: you have to confirm your subscription first, via a link that is sent to you via email.

Could you take a look at the email you received, and let me know what you find?

    Thanks!
