Question on usage…

    Hi Danny,

    This plugin looks like exactly what I need, but I’m not sure I’m using it correctly.

    I’m setting up a new site where I have a static home page, and nothing set for the blog page. I have the Reading options set to “Summary” I’ve created two pages (“Blog” and “Tutorials”) where I would like posts displayed, according to the post categories. I’ve tried a number of plugins with no luck, and finally came across yours, which I’m trying now.

    I installed and activated the plugin. Under the plugin settings, I have checked “Add Categories to pages”. I can see the catagory list in the right sidebar when editing a page. I have checked all applicable category settings for that page. I have created a post and assigned it one of those categories. But when I view the page, the post does not show up.

    Again, I’m trying to get certain posts to show on certain pages. Hopefully with the featured image as a thumbnail. Any thoughts on what I might be missing using this plugin?

    Hello,
    First of all, thank you for using our plugin!

    The plugin your using now is to give pages categories (which is not possible with the standard WP).
    The plugin you are looking for is something else …
    You want to display some post on a page and if possible with thumbnails.

    I have written another plugin named: Grid WUD which can do exactly what you need.

    Hi Danny,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

    I deactivated “Category to Pages”, and installed and activated “Grid WUD”. Set all the Settings and tried it out. But have a few issues.

    I tried different variations of the ShortCode, but can only get one category to display on a page. I’ve tried different ways of including multiple categories in the shortcode, but it seems to only work with one category.

    However, when using just one category I have other problems. I created screenshots, but can’t attach them here or on the contact page on your site, so I’ll try to describe them.

    Even though I have Featured Image set to show as thumbnail, it displays much larger. Also, for some reason part of the image and text I have earlier in the page (before the shortcode) is being displayed again to the right of the featured image in the list. I made sure the “Read More” button is active, but it does nothing when I click on it.

    When I click on the Featured Image, it does bring up the blog on a page, but for some reason the footer text is being moved to the top of the page, and the right sidebar is being moved down to the bottom of the page (under the blog).

    I wish I could send you the screenshots…
