Question Marks When Writting in Cyrillic Language

    Hello,

    I want to write in cyrillic on my blog, but as soon as I save some post with cyrillic in it, all the characters become question marks ??? I know this has something to do with the database not being in utf-8. I tried changing some tables through phpmyadmin, like titles for posts and posts, from latin1_swedish_ci to utf8_unicode_ci and it worked!

    I’m not quite experienced with mysql databases, so I don’t know if I should just leave them like that? Or if they have to stay that way, what else should I change to utf8_unicode_ci ? And why are they not changed to utf-8? I though wordpress is in utf8 by default ?
