question marks in place of apostrophe’s

  • i just noticed that my data that was uploaded via an import SQL now has
    question marks where accents and apostrophes used to be.

    should i be uploading my sql in a different format other than UTF8?

    okay, i did a search and tried some solutions.

    the one that worked was uploading my sql file as Latin1.

    i know wordpress defaults to ut8, but i had used fantastico.

    will this bite me in the end? i have so many posts to go into every one and change the questions marks.

    any feedback is appreciated.

    Look at your SQL file. It will tell you what format it needs to be imported as. Also you can see if the accents and stuff is actually in teh file or not.
