Question mark in blue box instead of logo

I have installed Grid Style theme, and have tried to upload a logo, but with no success. It just appears as a blue box with a question mark. I created the logo in Photoshop and saved it as a .gif file, as advised by photoshop. The logo appears in my media library, but not on the website.
