    Dear WPS team,

I have a query regarding a recent observation noted after installing the plugin on a new WP deployment. When navigating to the settings section to modify the login URL, I noticed that there is a hardcoded ‘?’ appended to the URL just before the entry field to specify the custom link.

    For example; https://www.test .com/?(custom_link)
(the portion of the URL up to the ? is fixed, followed by the empty box to customise the link)

I have installed this plugin on other sites and no such thing has occurred so I’m not sure exactly what’s happening here.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciate.

OK, not exactly sure what happened here but the issue has been resolved since WP 5.1 was deployed. Assuming that it was a WP issue and not a plugin related problem.

    Problem fixed.

    Okey good !

I’m running WP 5.1.1 and I just installed WPS Hide Login, and I’m experiencing the same addition of a question mark at the end of the site URL. Any further answers?

    Hi guys,

I’d love to be able to help but the reason for resolution is unknown. In my case, it seemed to drop the ? only after initiating an upgrade of the core WP version. I suspect that it was purely a coincidence so this issue definitely requires further troubleshooting to work out why it’s happening.

Sorry I can’t be of more help.

I had the same issue but @wkoehn gived me a hand.

The reason you see the question mark is because your permalinks are setting in as “Plain” (/?p=123), try to change it to “Post name” (%postname%). This should fix it.

As @yordansoares mentioned, this does fix the problem for me. I was on a brand new install of up to date core and plugin when this happened the other day. I don’t think it used to work this way in the past even on “Plain” permalinks but hard to say for sure because I’m usually cloning a staging site with “Post name” permalinks already set.
